Uma frente é que dava jeito
«Nós não propomos um governo só de comunistas.» declara Jerónimo de Sousa numa entrevista ao I. Com a expressão eleitoral do PCP um governo de comunistas é democraticamente impossível. Mas na verdade é isso que Jerónimo defende. Com “este PS” também não pode ser. E quanto ao BE cada um vai segundo Jerónimo de Sousa a “caminhar na sua própria bicicleta”. Logo quem sobra? Os patriotas, democratas, homens e mulheres de esquerda preocupados com o país, que convirjam connosco na procura dessa alternativa. Ou seja o velho frentismo fantoche que o PCP usou nos idos de 75 com o resultado sabido. O que é grave não é a proposta em si – cada um deve ser livre de propor o que quer. O que é grave é este tipo de declarações nunca seja escrutinado e que depois de fazer este tipo de declarações o PCP nunca seja confrontado com a sua apologia das ditaduras ou que no 1º de Maio fale de opressão e direitos em Portugal e depois alguns dos seus dirigentes integrem delegações oficiais em Cuba.

Helena, por pouco não tem toda a razão. O PS é verdadeiramente um monte de velhas carcaças (mesmo que essas estejam a estudar ou venham diretamente da juventude socialista). Apesar de existirem algumas figuras inteligentes lá, não há uma estrutura partidária capaz. No entanto, o PS não está isolado nesse caminho, o PSD e CDS-PP também não têm estrutura e as cabeças pensantes são ainda menos. O PCP e o BE têm algumas cabeças (todos aqueles intelectuais de esquerda que têm vindo a avisar as políticas do PS, PSD e CDS-PP, no entanto, se o BE não tem estrutura, ela sobra no PCP. Era de esperar que passados tantos anos desde que Cunhal escreveu “O Partido com Paredes de Vidro”, onde demonstra que o PCP deve ser uma vanguarda, a estrutura partidária já tivesse sido alterada, por outras palavras, que tivessem afastado o Estalinismo do partido. Se no tempo de Cunhal o partido precisava do apoio económico soviético, hoje a estrutura tipo Komintern (versão purgada) já é desnecessária e antiquada. Desse modo, verifica-se que o PCP seria um partido que poderia marcar presença num governo de frente popular, mas prefere manter-se nos velhos costumes. Se não houver uma alteração rápida na estrutura do partido, é provável que em trinta anos percam a representação na Assembleia da República.

Ó André, que grande confusão! Se o PS é um partido de “velhas carcaças” como diz, o PCP é paleolítico. Mantém uma ideologia do séc. 18 (já que nunca a afirma explicitamente). O Partido como vanguarda significa que, no entender dos comunistas, o povo é estúpido e que eles é que sabem o que há a fazer (em ditadura, claro). Assim sendo, o Partido decide, o pessoal obedece, no fim alcança-se o paraíso. A experiência não demonstrou, nem demonstra, a bondade da proposta e os povos submetidos ao regime não têm demonstrado grande entusiasmo.
Faço lembrar que até se matam para sair de Cuba, morriam para fugir da República Democrática, são condenados caso tentem fugir da Coreia do Norte. Os dirigentes (os tais esclarecidos), são designados dentro do Partido e até por descendência dinástica (casos de Cuba e Coreia do Norte).
No PCP (e estruturas dependentes) sabe-se sempre quem é o próximo líder (o chamado centralismo democrático), as moções são sempre aprovadas por unanimidade, não há lugar a opiniões dissidentes.
Resumindo: o que o PCP gostaria de ter (não se atreve a propor) seria um regime ditatorial em que fossem eles a mandar, mas não me parece que a malta aceite a proposta. No dia em que o velho PCP deixar de ser isto, desaparece, esfuma-se, transforma-se noutra coisa qualquer. A demografia vai encarregar-se de lhe levar os militantes e simpatizantes.

World party, political leaders congratulate China on CPC congress

BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — Political party and political leaders worldwide have congratulated China on the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which opened Thursday in Beijing.
Co-Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said in a congratulatory message the congress was a momentous occasion for the CPC as it undertook to review the progress made during the past five years and laid down policy guidelines for the future.
The congress was taking place at a time of worldwide economic slowdown while China continued its steady forward march, the message said, noting China faced various challenges in pushing forward the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, but, the Pakistani leader was confident “the Chinese leadership is endowed with the wisdom and sagacity to face these challenges and chart out a course that will take the Chinese people to even greater heights.”
The message said the Pakistan-China friendship based upon mutual trust and respect was all-weather and time tested.
Leader of the Gaumee Itthihaad Party (GIP), or National Unity Party, and President of Maldives Mohamed Waheed in his congratulatory message conveyed best wishes for very constructive and fruitful deliberations at the congress.
The message said the Maldives and China observed the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic relations on Oct. 14, 2012, and the GIP had enjoyed close ties of friendship and cooperation with the CPC.
The message reiterated appreciation to the Chinese government and its people for their assistance and cooperation in the development of the Maldives over the years.
President of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (FRELIMO) and President of Mozambique Armando Guebuza, in a congratulatory message, iterated support for the cause of the CPC and the Chinese people, and willingness to deepen ties between the two countries’ parties, governments and peoples.
Wishing the CPC congress a complete success, the message said FRELIMO was looking forward to deeper friendly cooperation with the CPC on their common ideals of creating peace, justice and boosting social progress.
Secretary General of the Rally of the Togolese People and Togo President Faure Gnassingbe said in a congratulatory message the CPC congress was convened at at time when China was in need of new policies and strategies in the face of changes taking place in its economic and social development.
The Togolese party believed the upcoming leadership of China would continue to deepen reform, improve people’s livelihood and consolidate China’s status as a world power.
Francois Bozize, founding president of the KWA NA KWA party of the Central African Republic, said, in recent years, the two countries had cooperated fruitfully in the political, economic and trade fields.
The Central African Republic was willing to continue to cooperate with China to jointly create a better future, said Bozize, who is also president of the African nation.
Najib Tun Razak, president of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO), said in his message, under the leadership of Hu Jintao and the CPC, China had achieved unprecedented economic and social progress in the past decade, with a great improvement in the people’s living standards.
Malaysia was looking forward to strengthening reciprocal cooperation with China to benefit the two peoples, said Najib, who is also prime minister of the country.
Xanana Gusmao, leader of the National Congress for Timorese Reconstruction (CNRT) of East Timor, said the CPC congress would make great contributions to China’s prosperity and progress.
The CNRT was looking forward to further enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the two parties and advancing the friendly relations between the two governments and peoples, said Gusmao, who is also prime minister of the country.
Chair of the Board of the Unity Party and Parliament Speaker of Latvia Solvita Aboltina, and Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis in their congratulatory message wished China further economic development and expressed willingness to push forward friendly relations between the two peoples.
“Our common and joint efforts will turn into meaningful and useful benefits and will foster the wealth and fortune of both countries,” the message said.
Crin Antonescu, president of the National Liberal Party (NLP) of Romania, said the NLP fully understood the CPC congress’s significance to China and the world at large, adding it would bring China’s social development into a historic new period.
The NLP was ready to deepen the long-lasting, mutually beneficial and win-win partnership between Romania and China, so as to promote the two countries’ development and progress, said Antonescu, who is also president of the Senate.
Bourhane Hamidou, president of the National Assembly of the Comoros, said the CPC congress was of great significance in Chinese politics and had a wide influence on the world.
He hoped the congress would inject fresh vitality into China and that China would continuously score new achievements in various fields.
Party Leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement and Vice President of Kenya Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka said in a congratulatory message the CPC congress would deliberate on the economic development, social progress, improvement of living standards and raising the country’s international status and influence that China had realized since the last congress.
The meeting would also make further strategic plans in China’s cause of reform and opening up for the next phase of the national modernization drive, as well as for the overall advancement of the party.
Beatriz Rojkes de Alperovich, vice president of the Justicialist Party of Argentina, said the new CPC leadership would shoulder a responsibility to lead China into a bright future.
Policies from the congress would have an influence not only on China, but also on the the sound relationship between the two countries, said Rojkes, who is also the provisional president of the Senate
Aleksandar Vucic, president of the Serbian Progressive Party, said the CPC had drawn up a development strategy that was in the interests of the people and established a development path for China.
The Serbian Progressive Party attached great importance to the friendly cooperative relations between the two parties and was willing to continue to make contributions to deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples and cooperation in various fields, said Vucic, who is the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Serbia.
Former South African President Thabo Mbeki said the CPC congress would make important decisions and push for the realization of important goals for a better life for the Chinese people.
Alan Garcia, president of the Peruvian Aprista Party, said the congress would continue to stick to and strengthen the CPC’s policy in transforming China’s economic development mode.
The congress would make a nessasary analysis on the situation of China and the world at large, said Garcia, a former president of Peru.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in his congratulatory message referred to the CPC congress as a gathering that could reflect on the remarkable progress China had made in the past five years.
There were numerous challenges and opportunities that all countries faced, many of which could only be tackled through partnership and cooperation, the message said, stressing “on all the big issues, we need China to be a partner for progress.”
“So whether the issue is global economics, climate change, Africa world trade or securities questions, countries around the world, together with China should create the circumstances for strong partnerships,” the former PM said.
Mari Bin Amude Alkatiri, general secretary of the Revolutionary Front of Independent East Timor and former prime minister of the country, said the congress was of great historic significance for the CPC, China and the world.
Nikolai Levichev, leader of the Russian Justice Party, said the congress, a historic event for the CPC and the Chiese people, would score fruitful achievements and help China achieve more success in internal and international affairs.
The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia said China, as the most populous country in the world, had maintained rapid development in various fields and realized stability and prodsperity.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) said in a message it had been keenly following the developments taking place in China and noted the impressive economic advances made by the country.
It was confident the relations between the peoples of China and India would continue to improve and contribute to bringing peace and stability in the region, the message said.
S. Suoakar Reddy, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), said his party noted the Chinese people in the past five years had already registered tremendous progress in all areas through implementing a scientific outlook on development aimed at achieving social harmony and balanced growth.
“We have much expectation and hopes about the outcome of the 18th Congress of the CPC, which we are sure will further strengthen the resolve of the Chinese people to build socialism with Chinese characteristics,” he said.
The Director of the Presidential Office of Belarus said, under the leadership of the CPC, China had scored remarkable achievements in all fields and was playing an important role in international politics and the economy.
Joseph Ejercito Estrada, former president of the Philppines, said there was no doubt the accomplishments of China had been remarkable, with the impressive growth of its economy.
The new leardeship would play a critical part in steering the nation to reach its goal for thje next decade, he said.
Walid Jumblatt, president of the Social Prograssive Party of Lebanon, said the world expected China to have greater achievements that would serve as a model for others.
Secretary General of the Yemeni Alliance For Reform Abdul-Wahab Ahmed Al-Anqsi, in a message, wished the CPC congress a success.
The message said the alliance believed the CPC would continue to push forward the reform and opening-up process and strengthen institutional and capacity building of the party, continuously lift China’s international status, support developing countries and make contributions to maintaining world peace.
The Egyptian Communist Party Central Committee said the CPC congress was of special significance as it was convening against the backdrop of major changes in the world.
The Egyptian Communist Party expressed appreciation of the CPC’s settlement of problems that had arisen in its drive to build a fairly well-off society in an all-round way and promote the shift of economic growth mode through enhancing party building as well as of its important role in safeguarding world peace.
Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of Turkey’s Republican People’s Party, said in his congratulatory note the CPC congress would benefit China and all its people.
Hasan Basri Ozbey, vice chairman of Turkey’s Workers’ Party, said in a message the successes achieved in China under the CPC leadership in the construction of a socialist market economy were met with enthusiasm by his party.
These achievements played a positive role in enhancing the creation of a multi-polar world and had made contributions to safeguarding world peace and security, the message said.
Mohammed Saeed Bekheitan, assistant secretary of the regional command of Syria’s Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, said the CPC congress took place at an historic moment and would surely further promote China’s development.
A friendly China had played an important part in building the pattern of international relations and hoisting its own banner in world forces that believe in equality, peace and progress, the message said.
In his congratulatory message, Abu Maher Ghneim, central committee member of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, said the CPC congress, a gathering serving as a link between past and future, would bring happiness to the friendly Chinese people, safeguard domestic peace and stability, achieve social justice and let all Chinese people share the country’s wealth.
He said his party was proud of its friendly relations with the CPC.
Oliviero Diliberto, secretary of the Party of Italian Communists, said in his message the CPC congress was convened at a critical juncture concerning world balance and China’s rise was changing the international pattern.
China’s achievements in economic development had attracted world attention and its drive in poverty reduction had proved to be very fruitful, the message said.
The Party of Italian Communists was willing to advance its friendly and cooperative relations with the CPC in a concerted effort to attain the ideal of a socialist society, it said.
In a congratulatory note, Paolo Ferrero, secretary of Italy’s Communist Refoundation Party said his party enjoyed brotherly relations with the CPC and was willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation to build a just and peaceful world.
Tom Curran, general secretary of Ireland’s Fine Gael, said in a message his party viewed with great interest on-going economic, social and cultural development in China and looked forward to stengthening relations between the two countries.
He voiced hope the deliberations of the congress ensured the great progress being made was continued and enhanced.
Bohuslav Sobotka, leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party, said in his note the CPC congress was an important meeting in the CPC’s history, which served as a link between past and future.
Following the guidelines of reform and opening up, China would continue to develop and benefit all its people, the message said.
The traditional friendly ties between the two parties would also be further cemented to promote the development of relations between the two nations and create a more just, harmonious and united world, it said.
Vladimir Voronin, president of Moldova’s Party of Communists, said in his congratulatory message that, against the backdrop of the world economic crisis, the CPC had achieved success in building a modernized socialist country and effectively coped with the grave challenges posed by a multi-polarized world.
Cooperation between the two political parties was of strategic significance, the message said.
The political council of the New Azerbaijan Party said the political resolutions the 18th CPC congress made would ensure China’s continuous, comprehensive and rapid growth, and would have a significant impact on promoting China’s prestige in the region and the world.
The New Azerbaijan Party considered party-to-party dialogue a key factor for further deepening coordination between Azerbaijan and China and maintaining the interests of the two peoples.
The party was ready to further efforts to promote cooperation between the two parties, it said in a message.
Petr Simonenko, first secretary of the Ukrainian Communist Party, believed the CPC would stick to the successful path of China’s development as always, lead the Chinese people to new victory and achievements, and realize the magnificent blueprint of the country’s development.

National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party George Wright said, since Australia and China established diplomatic relations in 1972, “we have always looked on China as not only a neighbor, but a close friend.”
The occasion of the 18th National Congress of the CPC was an important moment for China’s national development and history, he said.
“We recognize the enormous work of the CPC in lifting the living standards of millions of people and to promoting friendship and peace with other nations,” he added.
Edward Natapei, chairman of the ruling Vanuaaku Pati (VP), said in a message to the CPC: “We have no doubt that under your most able leadership and guidance, the National Congress will deliberate on its set agenda effectively and efficiently.”
“We look forward to learning the outcome of this historical meeting, especially in terms of its proposed plan to comprehensively boost forward the reform and opening up policy, construction of a modern socialist society and the building of the Communist Party of China,” Natapei said.
Niger Foreign Minister Mohamed Bazoum, acting leader of the Nigerian Party for Democracy and Socialism, said in a message the CPC always stuck to its Socialist values and had achieved great and inspiring advancements.
The CPC had turned China into an indispensable participator on the world stage and a trustworthy cooperative partner for all developing countries, including Niger, he said.
He wished great success of the 18th CPC congress.
Secretary General of the Rwandese Patriotic Front Francois Ngarambe said his party was delighted to see the outstanding achievements the Chinese people had registered under the leadership of the CPC.
“I would in advance congratulate and welcome the new leaders to be elected, who will push CPC and the Chinese people as a whole to greater heights of success,” he said.
“The existing friendship between our two parties and countries will be further strengthened,” he added.
Secretary General of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) Party Pendukeni Livula-Ithana said: “As the ruling party of Namibia, we wish to acknowledge our deep and cordial relations and the profound cooperation that exists between the Communist Party of China and the SWAPO Party of Namibia and indeed between our countries.”
“The bonds of friendship and solidarity that shaped our commitment toward the ideal goal of total development of our countries shall always be cherished,” she said.
Keketso Rantso, secretary general of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy, said: “We trust that during this conference, the CPC will map out strategies that will contribute to the political, social and economic development of the People’s Republic of China and its great people.”
“Furthermore, we are confident that the cordial relations existing between the People’s Republic of China and Africa, Lesotho in particular, will continue to flourish for the benefit of our two countries and peoples,” the message said.
In a message, Wilson C. Mukama, secretary general of Tanzania’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi, hailed the frequent exchange of visits and experience sharing between the CPC and his party.
He reiterated his party’s commitment to strengthening further the existing fraternal relations and wished the CPC congress success and fruitful deliberations.
President of Costa Rica’s National Liberation Party Bernal Jimenez said the CPC congress would surely further expand and consolidate the progress and wellbeing of the Chinese people, and push forward the transformation of the development mode of the Chinese economy.

Caro Eleitor, certamente que leu no que eu escrevi a crítica aberta às estruturas do komintern purgado, ou seja, o Estalinismo. De facto, todos os pontos que refere (à exceção do centralismo democrático) advêem dessa corrente.
O centralismo democrático foi algo necessário num país onde nem 10% da população não sabia ler nem escrever, se não me engano Lenine escreveu sobre isso (mas não sou conhecedor da obra, como tal não lhe posso indicar qual foi o livro). Em nenhuma parte do meu comentário o senhor leu que eu não considerava o PCP atrasado, de facto, recordo-me de até condenar o atual modelo do PCP à extinção.
Ainda assim, acredito que num futuro próximo uma nova geração transforme o PCP (não me refiro ao líder do grupo parlamentar), tornando-o um partido mais democrático. Para isso basta uma simples revisão dos estatutos.

PS: Já percebi o motivo da crise, se todos os portugueses forem tão bons a interpretar o que lêem como o senhor, o PSD pode continuar a escrever o que quiser no programa eleitoral, os portugueses nem notam que estão a ser tramados.

A República das Putas

A expressão não é original, mas o plágio é deliberado. Quando Josef Skvorecky escreveu o livro A República das Putas, havia na então Checoslováquia o sentimento de um país traído, entregue ou vendido a uma ideologia questionável, por uma classe dominante corrupta e por políticos que eram de facto putas, metafórica e literalmente. No caso de Portugal não houve tanques a entrar pelo país e a ideologia a que fomos vendidos será a outra, supostamente oposta. Mas de resto a história é tal e qual, especialmente no que diz respeito à qualidade e moralidade dos políticos.
E o pior é que paga o justo pelo pecador, ou pelo menos há pecadores, a nível mundial, que não pagaram nada. Até isto se resolver não me parece que faça grande sentido ser optimista, ou filosofar sobre o estado das letras e das ciências. Antes falar de tourada.
Ainda deve haver por aí quem se lembre da Dona Branca, a auto denominada banqueira do povo. Para quem não sabe, era uma senhora que mais não fazia que comprar e vender dinheiro, fazê-lo circular, o que lhe era levado de novo era usado para pagar juros chorudos aos que já lá estavam, e cada vez havia mais. Ela arrecadava uma comissão, a coisa foi crescendo até que um dia PUM, foi tudo pelos ares. Recordo-me de uma Dona Arminda, que lavava as escadas lá do prédio, que perdeu as poupanças todas nestas andanças, ainda me lembro da senhora a chorar muito, faz-me lembrar o Portugal de hoje. E a Dona Branca inevitavelmente foi dar com os costados na prisão, coitada da senhora, estava muito avançada para a época, se fosse hoje davam-lhe um bónus de milhões, e teria uma posição de topo na Wall Street.
Não sejamos hipócritas, já todos recorremos aos bancos, e houve tempos em que o mundo das finanças fazia algum sentido. Precisava-se de algo agora, a ser pago com dinheiro que se iria ganhar mais tarde, os bancos tratavam da necessária máquina do tempo financeira. Em Itália vai-se a uma terriola qualquer, e lá há-de estar a Caixa Agrícola de Montemerdini, ou lá o que for: emprestava para se comprar os adubos, as sementes, as alfaias, e quando se fazia a colheita pagava-se, ficava tudo contente, belos tempos.
Eram tempos em que o capitalismo tinha um lado quase bom, ou pelos menos paternalista. Claro que a pobreza era extrema, e deixa lá as coisas correrem mal e logo se via quem passava fome. Mas o capital nesses tempos era usado para produzir riqueza real, e o sistema financeiro apoiava o processo, conduzia a coisas que se viam, que resultavam em produtos tangíveis e reais.
O capitalismo de hoje é bem mais tenebroso. Os jogos financeiros contemporâneos são tão abstractos e auto-referenciais que trocando a coisa por miúdos mais não são do que comprar e vender dinheiro, como fazia a Dona Branca. Por razões que nunca entendi, muitas das galinhas dos ovos de ouro, em Londres e Nova Iorque, são físicos teóricos e matemáticos falhados, ex-colegas meus em alguns casos. Temos tido acesas discussões, mas numa coisa concordamos: a teoria do caos e o Lema de Ito que se lixe, aquilo é simplesmente jogar na lotaria. Como é que trocar acções por computador ao microssegundo, como se tem vindo a propor, pode corresponder a alguma operação económica real? Aquilo é verdadeiramente a Dona Branca: uma pescadinha de rabo na boca financeira, “financiar o financiamento das finanças financiadas”, num jogo bem enterrado no umbigo da Wall Street e da City de Londres, um totoloto mundial mas com um belo seguro contra perdas: quando se ganha, ganham eles; quando se perde ,pagamos todos, em cascata. E é aí que entram as tais putas, especificamente as nacionais.
Ao longo dos anos vimos o país a endividar-se com coisas que eram precisas e coisas que não eram. Tínhamos um serviço nacional de saúde do terceiro mundo e uma taxa de mortalidade infantil a condizer, analfabetismo e subdesenvolvimento a níveis do Subsara… e as coisas mudaram dramaticamente nos últimos 20 anos. Saí de Portugal em 1989 e sempre que voltava via algo de novo que era genuinamente preciso: portos para pescadores, estradas ao nível europeu, uma enorme expansão do ensino, etc., etc. E claro que tudo isto custa dinheiro, mas podia argumentar-se que se a Europa não queria ter um país do terceiro mundo no seu seio que o pagasse.
Mas onde a porca torce o rabo é que se via também uma orgia de infra-estruturas desnecessárias: túneis nas entranhas da Madeira que levavam a lado nenhum, estradas em duplicado nos cus de judas regionais, coisas tão ridículas que davam vontade de rir. Foram-se fazendo obras públicas completamente faraónicas, de novo-rico que não sabe o que há-de fazer ao dinheiro. Tornava-se óbvio que se construíam infra-estruturas, não para preparar o futuro, mas sim para alimentar o presente, numa cumplicidade corrupta entre Estado e empresas privadas, em que o último elo da cadeia era o mundo das finanças internacionais. E esses andavam entretidos com os seus jogos de totoloto, e quando a bolha rebentou lixou-se o proverbial mexilhão, tradução, nós.
Como Skvorecky notava, as “putas” que tinham antes vendido o seu país aos nazis eram as mesmas que agora acolhiam os soviéticos (e mais tarde, muito depois de o livro ser publicado, acolheriam o capitalismo selvagem, sem que ele o soubesse). O mesmo se passa no nosso caso: não tenham dúvidas de que em tempos de fascismo os nossos primeiros-ministros teriam sido rapazes de sucesso. Mas de certa forma estamos a bater no ceguinho. Se eles (e nós, por extensão) fizeram figuras tristes e agora estamos a pagar por isso, houve quem fez pior e se está agora a rir. Os usurários mundiais nem sequer construíram túneis inúteis: construíram castelos de valores inexistentes, que continuam a crescer e a alimentar a sua ganância. Até isto se resolver falemos de tourada, porque não faz muito sentido discutir o estado da nossa sociedade, e o demais, em 2013.
Aliás, parece-me que a nossa sociedade estaria muito bem, muito obrigado, se não fosse este “pequeno detalhe” político e financeiro. Por exemplo: a sociedade portuguesa é muito mais sã do que a inglesa. Na Inglaterra, quem abre a boca inevitavelmente vomita uma etiqueta de classe social autenticada. Os famosos sotaques britânicos fornecem informações precisas sobre a classe, uma pena não se ensinar isto nas aulas de inglês do secundário que cá se apanham. E este simples facto cria uma quase ausência de mobilidade e interacção entre as classes; pior, torna as pessoas em estereótipos da sua classe social. Por exemplo, a classe operária inglesa força-se a seguir um cliché de ignorância e estupidez, atitudes racistas e xenófobas, contra a cultura e a educação. A sua imagem de marca é falar com erros de gramática que em Portugal só um atrasado mental cometeria… assim as classes superiores os têm vindo a controlar.
Nada disto se passa em Portugal (e já agora na Grécia, onde se encontram camponeses analfabetos a pagar a educação dos filhos em Cambridge). Ainda fui daqueles que tiveram de ir fazer a inspecção para a tropa, estava já então em Inglaterra, e o que mais me impressionou foi que entre os 500 “mancebos” de pirilau de fora que lá estavam, não se sabia de que classe era quem (tirando os casos extremos de dois grosseiríssimos labregos e de um pretendente à coroa). Ora na Inglaterra nada disto seria assim, e com graves consequências: ao contrário de Inglaterra, se há cultura e identidade neste país, elas residem precisamente na classe trabalhadora. E diria que é este o maior potencial de Portugal: temos uma sociedade muito mais saudável, em termos de identidade e de classe, apesar de todos os problemas com que nos deparamos.
Sim, éramos um país de pobres que passou temporariamente a um país de novos-ricos. Mas agora somos um país de novos-pobres: miúdos cheios de talento desempregados há dois anos, pessoal de ponta a emigrar para o estrangeiro, médicos educados cá a colmatarem as faltas de sistema de saúde inglês… um desperdício óbvio de uma geração. Em vez de usarmos estas fontes de rendimento, deixámos os tanques financeiros entrar pelo país, para aumentar os impostos e baixar os salários, já de si entre os mais baixos da Europa.
Não sei se haverá soluções milagrosas, mas uma quebra total com o que se tem vindo a fazer é evidentemente necessária. Lembro-me de uma senhora perguntar a um médico meu amigo se podia usar água benta para a sua enfermidade. O médico respondeu-lhe que sim, mas que a fervesse primeiro. Não me parece que doses sucessivas de banha da cobra sejam a solução dos nossos males. Muita da nossa dívida, e consequente austeridade, não é legítima, em perfeita analogia com as dívidas contraídas pelas prostitutas, e que as mantêm nas malhas dos seus donos. Se a nível mundial algo tem de ser feito para refrear os chulos financeiros, a nível nacional um corte com o passado seria um primeiro passo. Ou então que se dê o Prémio Nobel da Economia à Dona Branca. E viva a República das Putas.

Memória selectiva, caro Jerónimo; “bons tempos” em que vocês tudo fizeram para nos vender à União Soviética nos idos desse “grande democrata” chamado Álvaro Cunhal. Patriotas vindo desse partido só pode ser uma anedota… de muito mau gosto, diga-se de passagem. A História encarregar-se-á de vos julgar.

O enterro do Estado Social pelo actual Governo, só veio dar razão ao PCP que, a partir de 1980, acusou os diversos governos de centro esquerda e de centro direita de o quererem fazer. Este é o lado negro da actual coligação de centro direita que deixou que a tecnocracia eurocrata de Bruxelas do Ministro das Finanças se sobrepusesse à política centrista dos dois partidos que constituem a coligação. Mas quando se entrega o Ministério das Finanças a um funcionário da UE esta-se à espera de quê?
