Eu senti-me muito (mais) imbecil se fizesse um post destes para depois se descobrir que não houve violação. Mas sentia-me mesmo retardado, juro. Sentia que tinha dado todo um novo significado à expressão “figura de urso”..

Felizmente o país hoje é mais civilizado. Claro que isto nada tem a ver com violações, mas sobre o tema do post, parece-me que o problema da palavra veio da própria CBS que foi escassa em pormenores, e os jornalistas, portugueses e outros, estiveram bem, pois não podem afirmar violação se a fonte também não usou essa expressão. Qual é mesmo a dúvida ?
No calor das revoluções comentem-se muitos actos reprováveis, este caso no Egipto não é o único, as pessoas têm tendência de pensar que depois de uma revolução tudo lhes é permitido.
Porque estão a traduzir directamente do inglês, que se refere ao caso com essa expressão («sexual assault»), e não «rape». A primeira é mais abrangente e, como já se descobriu nesta caixa de comentários, «a person familiar with the matter (…) added that it was “not a rape.”».
Ainda teve sorte. Podia logo de seguida ser apedrejada por infedilidade, ter as mãos cortadas ou corpo dividido em dois pelas cimitarras dos maometanos.
