Sweden’s garbage spies breaking data laws
They were candidates for Sweden’s ultimate busybodies – but ‘garbage spies’ who have been photographing with digital cameras people who incorrectly recycle their rubbish have been told that they are breaking the law.
For the second time this summer, garbage has made the headlines in Swedish newspapers.
The first case: an old lady tried to recycle her old frying-pan, but the hole it should be dropped in was too small, so she left it standing by the recycling can instead. Bad idea.
Second case: a policeman-to-be tries to recycle his old cat toilet (in plastic), is faced with the same problem (the hole being too small), leaves it next to the recycling can. Big mistake.
In Sweden, this is a crime, and the same thing as polluting the planet. In fact, there are even spies watching the recycling cans, filing reports on people leaving garbage close to, not inside, the cans. And then you can get a whole lot of fine, that you have to pay.

“I was shocked to find out it was such a big offence,” said a 77-year-old woman who is set to go to court this week for leaving an old frying pan next to a dumpster in March, according to Swedish Radio.
Unsure of which container to toss her old frying pan into, she put it down and was caught and reported by one of the 25 FTI spies working in Sweden.2
Não acredito, mandar uma senhora de 77 anos a tribunal só porque não sabia onde colocar a frigideira velha. Deve ser mesmo deprimente viver naquele país. Uma coisa boa que os Ecopoints têm em Portugal é que levam aquele lixo não reciclável que ninguém quer. Brinquedos partidos, colchões, etc.

Penso que o objectivo principal, isto à fazedores das teorias das conspiração, é pòr-nos mais interessados no lixo, que em produzir.
